July 2008: Greek Cross

Rotary Cutting Instructions:
You need to cut the following patches:
- Cut one 4-7/8 inch wide strip from green and purple. Cut 2 squares 4-7/8 inches from green and purple. Cut in half diagonally for a total of 4 half-square triangles of each color.
- Cut one 4-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch rectangle from green and purple. Cut 4 rectangles from green and 4 rectangles from purple.
- Cut one 4-1/2 inch square from green.
General Instructions
- Lay out pieces to form block (see Fig. 3 for completed block).
- One-quarter (1/4) inch seams throughout.
- Press seam after each step. (Seam may be pressed open or toward darker fabric depending on your preference.)
Piecing Instructions:
- Sew triangles together, make 4 units (Fig 1). Sew rectangles together, make 4 units (Fig 1a).
- Following unit placement in Fig 2, sew triangle and rectangle units together making 2 strips. Sew remaining rectangle units and plain square together.
- Sew strips together to complete block (Fig 3).
